As a part of developing my latest web project, it's my job to make the site available in two languages (English and Croatian). I was wondering how I would go about linking to the respectful versions of the site. The default language for the site is Croatian ("hrvatski" in Croatian). Now, should the link to the English version say "English", or "engleski", the Croatian word for English? Or should I include both: "English/engleski".

One part of me is telling me to use "English", since that makes more sense to people who are actually looking for the English version. But another part of me is asking me why should that one word be in a different language from the rest of the page.

So, what do you think? "English", with a lang="en" attribute? Also, what would you suggest for making it more noticable to a first-time English speaking visitor, besides putting it near the top navigation? Would you put a little image of a UK flag, or an American, or both merged (I saw this somewhere), or some other non-text symbol?
