1) I am curious if any of you guys know how many Adsense publishers are out there. Google search shows 1.3 million sites out there with the word "google_ad_client".

2) Another question is that: while I earn about $30.00 per month from Adsense, I wonder why do "Advertisers want to advertise in contextual ads like Adsense", since personally I or everyone I know rarely clicks on those ads, and even if we click on those ads we never really made any purchase.

Is Google fooling advertisers by defaulting them to place their Ads in Adsense network, on top of Google.com search which makes more sense?
