Hi Guys,
I'm currently a 4th year business student at a Canadian University.
This semester, our university began offering a course loosely titled "Business Website Development".
The instructor for the class is very talented, but there's an obvious sense he is struggling on just what topics to cover (the field of website development hasn't been taught for quite as long as, say, accounting!). After the first 4 weeks, my concern along with some of my peers is that the class so far is emphasizing the techy end of things too much (i.e. domain name regristration, introduction to CSS, etc). This is after all supposed to be a business class.
So me and my peers began to discuss this, but the question arises, what exactly should one offer in a business course entitled "Business Website Development"?
Some obvious ones (which I believe will also be covered later on in the course) are payment services, security issues, and privacy/ethical issues. What would you want to see if you were a student in this class, or a professor teaching the class? Please be as general or specific as you want, hopefully your feedback can contribute to making future offerings of this class as high of quality as possible.
